Pledge to L.E.A.D. by 2030
Join the L.E.A.D. campaign - Leveraging Education Abroad for Development - by pledging 10% of student-athletes and athletic staff at your institution will participate in an abroad program by 2030.
Seventy percent (70%) of student-athletes regret not studying abroad while in college due to their athletic commitments according to an NCAA study. With your help, we aim to change that statistic by 2030.
The L.E.A.D. campaign mobilizes athletic departments across the country to create international opportunities for student-athletes and athletic staff to prepare for a global world.
Since Global Players started the movement in 2008, we have been challenging the status quo by leveraging education abroad for development. We care deeply about student-athletes across all sports and demographics getting access and exposure to international people, places, and practices. These are the global leaders of tomorrow.
How it Works
Meet with a L.E.A.D. Liaison to identify your goals and strategic objectives. Make a commitment to 10% of student-athletes and staff going abroad by 2030.
STEP TWO: PROGRAMS
Select the programs your institution will offer in order to achieve your pledge commitment. Global Players and other providers offer study abroad, community service trips, international coaching programs, internships, team travel etc.
STEP THREE: ROADMAP
Designate a L.E.A.D. Champion and establish a roadmap to success. We’ll walk you through the process and give you pointers every step of the way.
STEP FOUR: LOGISTICS
Global Players makes it easy to design and develop programs. From fundraising and marketing support to full program customization,, we are from cookie-cutter.
It’s go time! The pledge has been made, programs developed, and now the fun part: student-athletes and staff are prepped for the experience of a lifetime!
