ACADEMICS

During the six week study abroad program, four of those weeks will be spent in the classroom. You can choose a max. 2 courses (in addition to a Czech language and protocol class). Each class is worth four (4) US credit hours or seven (7) ECTS credits, dependent on your University and a total of 45 contact hours.

The Business courses are designed for college students and recent graduates interested in business, international business, marketing, leadership and entrepreneurship. Class sessions will be followed by afternoon site visits to business and industry. Some site visits are schedule d, while others will be arranged based upon an individual students interest. Faculty and local staff will assist students in arranging visits to companies they are interes ted in visiting as part of their program, providing a great opportunity for personal networking. This program includes academic courses taught by highly qualified faculty, networking opportunities with business leaders and entrepreneurs from the local community, guided tours of the cities, and numerous cultural opportunities. Local experts guide students through the logistics of getting situated in their new surroundings and assist with all aspects of adjusting to local customs and traditions.

The Humanities courses are ideal for those who wish to use the city of Prague as their classroom, exploring the nooks and crannies of the world of history in this romantic venue. These courses provide a comprehensive historical and political study of Central and Eastern Europe from the Fall of the Roman Empire to the present.  Depending on the courses you choose the professors will guide you in discovering the hidden wonders of this unique city where reality meets the surrealistic and show you more closely how it has grown and developed over centuries. In these courses, classroom lectures will be combined with regular excursions throughout Prague. You will get a chance to visit churches, galleries and artist’s studios in order to get in touch with both the city’s history and contemporary art and Jewish life.

9:00-10:00: Czech Language and Culture Course

10:00-11:30: Choice of one of the following: Global Marketing, Central European History, Global Leadership

12:30-14:00: Choice of one of the following: International Business, Jewish Studies

Course Syllabi

Site Visits: Class sessions will be followed by afternoon site visits to locally run, internationally operating businesses in Prague. Some site visits are scheduled while others will be arranged by students based on their personal interests. Faculty and local staff will assist with making these connections and then the opportunity is yours for personal networking!
